Royal Crown Kennels is located in a beautiful and lush valley in the Ouachita National Forest of Central Arkansas. We have many rolling acres of green for our Griffons to romp and play all day! Thank you for stopping by our site and we welcome you to email or call with any questions you may have regarding our breeding program.
Brussels Griffons are one of the most gentle and caring of God's creatures. They are literally, "man's best friend." They show no fear, only great strength, courage, and love. When you look into the eyes of a Brussels Griffon, you see not only that unconditional love, but a warm and intelligent "smile." Our Griffons love us beyond words and we as well love them with all the love in the world.
My experiences with the breed started from a child and we were fortunate enough to live in an area of animal lovers and breeders. Knowing several people in my hometown who had Griffons as pets when I was very young, gave me a headstart. Close friends of mine, Judge Gayle Ford and his wife, Joan Ford, had several Griffons as pets, even though they were from top champion bloodlines. Then, my dear friend and Arabian horse breeder, Walter Schimanski, also had two champion Griffons. I worked on his farm as a teenager while attending college and the Griffs fed horses with me morning and night. In the evening, they would sleep on the couch with me while watching movies. I fell head over heals in love with the Griffon and made myself a solemn vow to one day purchase a Griff that had the same gorgeous and regal look of Walter's Griffons.
When I was ready to purchase my first Griffons, I had researched the breed very extensively and was lucky enough to find a breeder not too far from home. This breeder is a friend of mine still today. Now, my breeding program is strengthened by the infusion of top champion-lined imported Griffons from Eastern Europe. I plan to import another female very soon from Europe and continue to import well into the future. The old lines of Europe contain new, fresh blood that will make an excellent mark on the breed in the United States. We will show all of our imports and hope to possibly purchase more champion Griffons from the U.S. at some point. Finding the "right," Griffon is difficult for me as I am so picky and reluctant to buy if I'm not confident that it could possibly be the "one."
A very important part of our breeding strategy is PEDIGREE. A breeder should never just look at a sire and dam and say, "they're pretty, they'd make nice pups, let's breed them." The looks and conformation of two animals are only one portion of all the integral parts that should reflect on a very sensible and educated breeder of any animal species. I began my years of breeding purebred animals with Arabian Horses at the age of 9. Now, over twenty years of breeding purebred animals, my aim is to help improve the breeds by not only being involved with every facet and relation with the breeders, veterinarians, but also to exhibit animals I breed.
